Placed on an old Moscow-Saratov ñhannel near a ferry through pra river, Spas-Klepiki fast of steel by one of large trade villages. With XIX in a village and near it started to form wadded factories: Savostin's in Spas-Klepiki, Drozdov's - in Zadnepilivo, Dvoretsky's - in Egorovo. They worked on import raw.
Now Spas-Klepiki - district center of the Ryazan area. In city there is a hotel, restaurant, restaurant, some small firms, House of culture, stadium. The building of school was kept, in which one in 1909 - 1912 the poet Serge Esenin was studied.
From Spas-Klepiki it is possible to make an excursion to Egorovo village - home of artist Arhipov. It is in 5 kms from the city. The house was kept, in which he worked. In Ryazan regional art museum the Arhipov's pictures «The ice has passed», «The Ryazan hammer» are on display.
